MY OJT EXPERIENCE
On-the-job training is a form of job instruction that occurs directly at the worksite while the employee learning is doing his or her job.The goal of OJT is to provide instruction and practice opportunity so that the inexperienced learner can develop the knowledge, skills, and competencies required to perform the job tasks associated with his or her job role.
My name is Helen Grace Fuentes Cunahap, a 4th year student of Northern Iloilo State University Lemery Campus. One of the requirements for our last semester is to have an on- the- job training for us to experience the world of being an employee.
Before we go to our respective offices we attended first the flag ceremony at the school then Sir Rene Arduo bring and introduced us to Mayor Oscar Villegas Jr. He oriented us about the rules and regulations, what are the things that we are going to do if we're inside the office. He also introduced us to Ma'am Janely Ansoyon the Head of Local Government Unit, she assigned us where offices we belong. Renata and I we belong to the Department of Agriculture. Then she introduced us to Sir Noel J. Azucena the Municipal Agriculturist he also oriented us then he also introduced us to Sir Rodrigo Molina Jr. the Municipal Technologist and to the other Municipal Agriculture Staff.
FEBUARY 6,2023 a warmed welcome of Mayor Oscar Villegas Jr the Municipality Mayor of Lemery
During my first day of OJT, I felt nervous and shy at the same time happy because I met new people who can help me to boost my confidence, help me grow and gain new knowledge. Our first tasked was given by Sir Rodrigo Molina Jr. is to encode all the list of farmers beneficiaries in the masterlist, nervousness are always there when it's your first time and plus I do not have any actual experience and that's made me quiet at first. But thanks to them because they guide us first everytime they gave us a tasked.
Second week of our OJT, everyday we have different tasked to do. Renata and I enjoyed working together with our co- workers. I also learned to work hard even if it's a small tasked. Through this experiences I learned to be patience everytime I have a tasked. I learned to be patience, how to communicate and build relationships with the people I worked with.
As time goes by, we really enjoy our assigned task. I discovered it’s essential to be open to learning new skills, and being curious to learn and ask questions if sometimes there's a word that's unclear to me, or I don't understand it's fine to ask for clarification. We've encountered different kind of professional people around us also learned on how to deal with people in a professional way just like we're working with them as we are employee too. I can have the chance to learn various skills that I can use throughout my career and gaining valuable experience and training.

March 6, 2023 I woke up early in the morning because the Department of Agriculture (DA) was assigned to lead the flag, I was so excited that day because we are going to lead the Zumba dance, we danced together with Mayor Oscar Villegas Jr. and other LGU staff and the immersion students of Milan National High School also join us. Then we helped the immersion students to print their birthday surprise for Ma'am Rolette Magampo.
The department assigned to me is very organized especially this department faces different types of clients everyday and they're very patience, humble and passionate about it.
THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS 💞
